Partially Invariant Solutions for Two-dimensional Ideal MHD Equations
A generalization of the usual method of similarity analysis of differential equations, the method of partially invariant solutions, was introduced by Ovsiannikov. The degree of non-invariance of these solutions is characterized by the defect of invariance d. We develop an algorithm leading to partially invariant solutions of quasilinear systems of first-order partial differential equations. We ...
متن کاملOn the Yudovich solutions for the ideal MHD equations
In this paper, we address the problem of weak solutions of Yudovich type for the inviscid MHD equations in two dimensions. The local-in-time existence and uniqueness of these solutions sound to be hard to achieve due to some terms involving Riesz transforms in the vorticity-current formulation. We shall prove that the vortex patches with smooth boundary offer a suitable class of initial data fo...
متن کاملHölder Continuous Solutions of Boussinesq Equation with Compact Support
Here e2 = (0, 1) T , v is the velocity vector, p is the pressure, θ is a scalar function. The Boussinesq equations arises from many geophysical flows, such as atmospheric fronts and ocean circulations (see, for example, [25],[27]). To understand the turbulence phenomena in fluid mechanics, one needs to go beyond classical solutions. The pair (v, p, θ) on R2×R is called a weak solution of (1.1) ...
متن کاملBuilding New Kernel Family with Compact Support, in Scale-Space
Scale-space representation is one formulation of the multi-scale representation which has received considerable interest in the literature, because of its efficiency in several practical applications, and the distinct properties of the Gaussian kernel which generates the Scale-space. However, in practice, we note some undesirable limitations when using the Gaussian kernel: information loss caus...
متن کاملSpace - Time Invariant States of the Ideal
We study systems of classical point particles in d-dimensional Eu-clidean space. Using a result of O. Kallenberg we prove that probability measures , which (i) are translation-invariant, (ii) are stationary under the ideal gas dynamics, (iii) have a nite number of particles, energy, and entropy per unit volume, are in fact a convex combination of Poisson measures.
